The TDD1-PIR traffic detectors utilize Passive Infrared (PIR) sensing technology to detect moving vehicles (and other object) inside a well-defined, focused detection zone. Having an opening angle of a mere 1.3° resulting in an detection zone of app. 0.7 m2 at nominal range of 30 m (100 ft.) The detector does not require any configuration, rapid temperature changes – such as those caused by passing vehicles – toggle the digital transistor output. Non-moving vehicles cannot be detected – the contact will lose the call when a vehicle comes to a stand-still inside the field of view.
